777 Work Shop with Mike Colon!
One of the Marine Corps Leadership Traits that my husband always likes to quote is "Know yourself and continually seek self improvement." Another is, "learning is life-long." Socrates said something to the effect of, "the wisest man is the one who tells you how much he doesn't know. And while I'm quite confident in my technical proficiency with the camera, there is that whole other side of the photography profession that folks just don't think about..... the business side: marketing and advertising, branding, image, networking and relationship building, digital editing and album design. So, In the spirit of continued learning and inspiration, I eagerly jumped for an opportunity to attend Mike Colon's workshop. If you're in the wedding photography business, you already know who Mike is. If you're not, well, he's like our Micheal Jordan.
The workshop was limited to seven photographers, and was held at his beautiful home in Newport Beach, Ca. Mike generously shared his knowledge and tips in what made him so successful in all of the areas I mentioned above. He blew me away with the lesson on histograms! One of the most interesting things I found about Mike is the humbleness. The other thing that shocked me is that he's a 6"4' & Jujitsu trained. This shoot broke away from usual bridal session and was more about capturing a fun filled day at the beach with friends and ended with a cozy bomb-fire and smores! Check out how I captured their day.

These are AWESOME! I love the one where the water is running up on the kissing couple, wrapping them like a blanket!
